This week, I talk to local Hermosa Beach, California residents, filmmaker and activist, Heidi Swan and former city council member, Carolyn Petty. We talk about the little known link between teen marijuana use and adult schizophrenia, as well as the increasing incidences of depression and anxiety. Marijuana has been found in many cases to be a gateway drug to many more severe drugs and even suicide in recent years.
I wanted to shed some light on this topic due to the legalization and dispensaries popping up in what seems like every town in California. I had no idea about some of these frightening statistics. We also discuss the importance of labeling, the risks so parents understand hot to get involved and talk about the realities to their kids. I hope you listen and share this episode.
