I’m a trauma survivor from a very early age and have been surrounded by death, abuse, and abandonment for much of my life. Through hosting the stories of other survivors, I’ve come to realize that, with work, there’s a way out.

People often talk about the magic of being a mother, and while it is an incredible and rewarding job, it’s also a difficult one. No one knows this better than this episode’s guest, Jessica Patay.
Jessica is a mother of three, including a son who has a rare genetic disorder called Prader-Willi syndrome. Due to her firsthand experience with being a caregiver to a child with disabilities, she knows how challenging and isolating it can be, and that is why she founded We Are Brave Together, an organization that creates a community for moms of children with disabilities.
I am an independent podcaster and your monthly donations and partnerships help more than you can imagine – Join my Legacy membership on Patreon. Legacies are the founding members of a brand new type of mental health support channel and membership site where we empower and uplift each other and learn how to live healed and whole after traumatic life events. This is a place for trauma survivors as well as their friends and family. This is a safe environment to be vulnerable but it’s also a place for celebration and moving forward. Let’s all start to embrace who we are becoming by looking forward together!
