While we are seeing more diversity and inclusivity on our screens, at the same time the world seems to be becoming more and more divided. The entertainment industry is finally taking steps forward in including more and more POC and LGBTQ+ representation the real world seems to be taking a step back. With laws being brought forward that negatively impact the LGBTQ+ community and hate crimes on the rise. The real question is, why is what we’re seeing on screen so different from what happening in today’s society?
